Why wheels get so dirty

Can you remove baked-on brake dust from alloy wheels?
In most cases, yes. An iron fallout remover dissolves embedded brake dust, then the wheel is agitated with brushes. Very old deposits that have etched the lacquer may leave marks.
Is alloy wheel cleaning safe for diamond-cut wheels?

Can you repair kerbed alloys?
